Oral appliances
While CPAP is the most effective, you may be presented with the option of wearing an oral appliance to help keep your throat open and the flow of air consistent. These are often easier to use than CPAP.
Depending on the severity of your sleep apnea, you may do well with an oral device that brings your jaw forward. This may help open your throat to relieve snoring and mild obstructive sleep apnea. Your dentist can help you identify the proper device. With many options available, you’ll have opportunities to find the one that works best for you.
It’s recommended that you continue to follow up with both your doctor and your dentist to reassess the effectiveness and track any additional effects.
