State-of-the-art screening and diagnostic procedures are made possible by innovations in technology. These tools provide physicians the clearest possible picture of your health:
- Bone Density Scan
A bone density (or DEXA) scan measures bone thickness to find out if you have osteoporosis. The patients who are most at risk for osteoporosis and who benefit most from this kind of diagnostic testing are post-menopausal women. The results of the test may show that if a patient needs treatment for osteoporosis. - CT Scan
The 64-slice CT scanner has revolutionized imaging with its ability to capture images of the body’s fast-moving, dynamic processes. In fact, it can scan the whole human body in ten seconds. Soon, it will be used to perform non-invasive cardiac CT angiography, allowing Hampton Roads cardiologists to see into the deepest recesses of a patient’s heart as the device creates a three-dimensional picture. - Diagnostic X-ray
Our X-ray equipment delivers exceptional image quality. Fluoroscopic imaging – real-time, moving X-rays – give us the ability to examine the upper digestive system and the lower colon. - Digital Mammography
Our state-of-the-art digital mammography system is supported by an R2 ImageChecker® to offer women the most accurate mammogram possible. We offer comprehensive women’s health services that include bone density testing, ultrasound and lab services at one convenient, comfortable location. - Interventional Radiology
Interventional radiology produces high-quality images that allow physicians to see more detail in body structures. Complete studies can be done with fewer images, lower X-ray dose and fewer injections of contrast dye. This procedure can enhance minimally invasive surgeries by reducing pain, risk and recovery time for patients. - MRI
The 1.5 tesla MRI unit provides radiologists with detailed images to help provide your physician with the best information to treat your medical condition. The Imaging Center’s open bore MRI lets us examine larger patients and those with anxiety more comfortably. -
Ultrasound
3-D ultrasounds help with gynecology, cardiology and cancer detection. We also offer Peripheral Vascular Lab (PVL) studies. The advances in the Ultrasound lab are particularly valuable to the Bon Secours Breast Health Program.
